C.1865. A beautiful black silk taffeta bodice
which would have been worn as part of a dinner dress, or as evening wear. This classy bodice
is in wonderful condition with only some very light wear to the taffeta at the waistline, a small 1/2" tear in the silk under the left armpit, and some very light fading to the black under each armpit.
Has typical 1860's construction with dropped shoulder seams, piped seams, and four short
whalebones at the front.Lined
in drab colored glazed cotton and COMPLETELY handsewn!
laces up and the original lace is still present. The back has a long skinny whalebone at each side of the opening, and the eyelet holes are all handworked. There is also a short whalebone under each armpit as well.
Measurements: Dropped shoulders 16", Bust 32", Waist 23", length 12 1/2".
