Purple Taffeta Ballgown Bodice

Purple Taffeta Ballgown Bodice
C.1865. A ballgown bodice made out of vibrant purple silk taffeta (A testament to the new chemical dyes) and trimmed with purple silk fringe. The front fastens up with silk covered buttons and the neckline is low and scooped. The bodice has short puffed sleeves trimmed with silk fringe, and the back has curved seams to show off a fine figure.
The bodice is lined in white cotton drill and is not boned. this may be because it might have been made for a young teenage girl.
The size is bust approx. 28"- 30", Waist approx. 22".
