C. 1868-1870. An evening bodice stripped of all it's trim and its short sleeves. Made from a peachy gold silk faille.
This is a shortwaisted garment with a waistline raised higher than the natural level. An "Empire" waistline was extremely popular during the latter half of the 1860's. The bodice is lined
in damask sateen, but the boning was removed. These would have been most likely short whalebones. The back
fastens with silk covered buttons.
The size is a busty medium with a 36" bust and a 26" waist.
