Corsets and Crinolines - unique vintage clothing

C.1873- 1874 Winter wear

C.1873- 1874 Winter wear
This photograph is in the collection of the McCord Museum in Montreal, Canada but is of my uncles' great grandfather and great grandmother. They were a rich Montreal family, my aunt has many photos of them and tons more photos of the Pinkerton family are in the National Archives in Ottawa, Canada. I think it was the lady in the photo (also pictured in another photo down below in the "Underwear" section showing an example of an 1876 bustle dress), but my aunt said that she fell down the steps in her home, and broke her neck. Anyways, she always wore nice outfits and her and her husbands winter outdoor outfits are typical to what would have been worn in North America by the middle and upper classes.
