C. 1870 White Kid Shoes
These shoes date from the very early 1870's and are much the style of late 1860's shoes. High decorated vamps were extremely popular in the 1870's and I suspect these were wedding shoes as they were hardly worn.
They have 1" Baby Louis heels and have straight lasts. Very square toes as was popular during the mid 19th century until the
1880's. The decoration on the vamps is made out of little circles of pinked edged kid all sewn together. The ribbon is dark pink grosgrain.
Approx a US size 6/ 6 1/2, UK 4- 4 1/2. (From the collection of Leila Hidic)
