Late 1870's riding habit. Note how much plainer the bodice is and less full (but still very long) the skirt is compared to the photograph of the 1860's
habit. The bodices of the habits, became more severe and masculine looking during the mid 1870's, mirroring the tight fitting basque bodices of day dress (note
how the shoulder seam isn't dropped but at the natural point) but the masculinity is offset by the veil tied around and trailing from the top hat, elegant!
