Early 1880's Girl's Boots
These boots date to the first half of the 1880's. They are made out of wool challis and have 11 buttons. The edges of the button flap are scalloped and the top of the boot as well, which was popular in boots from the 1870's to the turn of the century.
They are square
toed and have a right and left last
The heel is 1/2", which was the maximum acceptable height for a girl's shoe. Any higher would be considered too grown up. These boots would have been worn by a girl of around 10 years old.
