Braided wire bustles were considered hygenic
as they allowed the skin to breathe and did not weigh as much as longer bustles did.
This bustle was made in the US by the American Braided Wire Company, featuring an eagle as it's logo. The amount the bustle juts out is controlled by a cotton tape and buckle on the inside
. The tighter you fasten it, the more the bustle sticks
