C.1897-1898. This skirt weighs a ton but is very glamorous! It is made of a very heavy weight silk faille, and lined with black cotton with a velveteen hem guard. It is gored and fits
over the hips smoothly, while giving a bell shaped appearance. Typical late 1890's styling with a simple band of trim accross the middle of the skirt.
Would have been worn by a tall woman, its 42" long and it fits my height perfectly at 5'9". Waist measures 31". Probably had a matching bodice and was most likely worn as a visiting outfit.
