Black corset C.1899-1900. Made of black cotton coutil with blue cotton flossing decorating the edges of the bones. Features the newly popular straight busk which would dominate the Edwardian period but still retains the look of 1880's and 1890's high busted corsets.
This would have been worn by a young teenage girl: Waist 18". This corset also has a busk stiffener behind the front busk which could be removed for washing or strenuous activity and replaced when firmer support was needed.
