Broderie Anglaise Petticoat
C.1895. A white cotton petticoat with a deep flounce of handmade Broderie
which looks like it was taken from a much earlier petticoat. This was typical as mid 19th century skirts and petticoats had so much fabric that it was common during the later 19th century and Edwardian eras to recycle them into narrower skirts of the era.
It is a large size fits about a 32"-34" waist and would have been worn by a tall woman.
