C.1913. An autumn or early spring swirled velvet coat. Lined in sateen and fastens at the front with four hook 'n eyes. Four large decorative glass buttons grace the outside.
The collar is the large fashionable "Peter Pan" style collar of the beginning of the 'teens era. Quite straight in shape, would have been worn by someone wearing a long straight corset. Bust measures 45", shoulders 15",
fits up to a height of 5'9". Velvet was a popular fabric for cold weather wear. This photo
shows a C.1907 lady wearing a slightly earlier yet similar jacket with a very large collar.
